it was a bit hard to know who was saying what because of the lack of dialogue tags, the way they're always separate from a paragraph and, frankly, both characters speaking pretty similarly
else I feel like I would've enjoyed this chapter more since it's the first time they actually talk :'D

I'm surprised his body can keep up with people's thoughts
I guess telepathy also gave him super reflexes or smth (saying this even though he claims to get tired. It's one thing to know ur about to get decapitated by a soccer ball and another one to be able to dodge in time...)

it's kind of tragic to see him failing to really impress anyone, though :'D chess would probably be his best bet if he wants to cheat his way to the top like a nepotism child

sayonara zetsubou sensei references are always a plus, though I have to question the tastes of the person running the place cuz some of the jokes are not... family friendly so to say
I will say, though, that while the writing style is charming and full of personality, it feels like I just read a chapter where literally nothing happens

if this is some stream of consciousness kind of thing then that's fine, but for a competition like this I'm not sure how well it might perform

This kind of reminds me of a shitty $0 budget visual novel I played ages ago in which the deliquent lazy but smart girl fell off the stairs and got the ability to read minds as well. Her parents always seemed nice to her, but once she read minds she realized they were assholes x_x imagine realizing your loved ones don't really love you back against your will. That must SUCK. Not saying that's necessarily what's happening here, though, just kind of made me think about that.
