Together in death never fails to make me a bit teary and I can confirm that remains true after having read this.

I almost wish it were a longer tale where feelings and events could be detailed and interrogated in greater depth (not that current length isn't enough to tell the story).

I give you bonus points for use of the piano solo; it's a wonderful instrument for many moods associated with romance, be it despair, sorrow, longing or intimacy, warmth and comfort. Bonus points also awarded for use of Kanji significance - I do love a good use of the Japanese naming system for the purpose of foreshadowing a character's personality or plot significance.

I will give nobody awards for correctly guessing her family name before it's revealed 🙃

Here comes the most shilltastic and boring answer, heh. At some point during the character development process, almost all of their vegan gel polish colours were revised in accordance with what's available on the market. PH102 is the product code for a particular item from Jessica Cosmetics (Purple Reign is the shade name. The others use the same brand, Manicurist and Aprés Nail products - there's a list of them in my character development text file 🤓). Fortunately, all of the products are/ were carried by a UK store which offers delivery to Japan for £9.95 (or free, on orders over £50, not that the story explicitly takes place in Japan of course. How well international shipping works is a potential concern though, given that I've been waiting almost seven months for a copy of Akuma no Riddle vol 4 to arrive now... :( )

In retrospect, I probably spent far too long looking into these character details 😅

Aquatope is on my MAL favourites list as well (I may slightly be in denial concerning the main characters' relationship ':/ )

A lot of good stuff in this chapter but the flower imagery at the beginning was the highlight for sure; I do love a tale told metaphorically, especially if/ when the genre-defining symbols are used 💮 :) Yasu is still my favourite (though one of those comments was definitely a low-blow, heh X( )

I will admit; the flicking switches line made me laugh out loud 😆

PR; "I want her (to) get it out of her system." and "... poured a glass of tap" (I inserted hydrochloric acid because my mind was in revenge mode, but I guess the tap was providing water 😅)

Yep; the captain is such a hanabi character that hanabi/ fanged characters would probably struggle with predicting her next move 🙃

The clue is somewhat ambiguous/ cryptic but despite the colours, the graph icon the cover background in fact has two sound waves which are 180° out of phase and require a lot of amplification to become resonant (light waves are referred to at a later point however 🤓). The icon does have further significance, but the other symbolisms reveal themselves fairly clearly in later chapters.

At the cost of quickly painting an image, Aki's dialogue has been altered to a nonspecific example. She may look like a sukeban, but she does lightly follow the GL trope of being not as bad as she first appears 😅

I was considering a Citrus reference for the longest time as well 🗿

Doughnuts Under A Crescent Moon is the third of six series which are dropped as Easter eggs throughout the story (the first two came in interlude four). I doubt anybody would spot them all, but alas, I have very queer taste, so that's to be expected really 😅

The satirical elements here, especially the poking fun at the lengthy introduction sequences are pretty funny 😆

Not sure why (though I suspect Looney Tunes and Sailor Moon are to blame), but I imagined an assortment of sound effects during the confrontations, heh

She did it for clout, but at what cost? Publicly beating somebody to near-death without context can't possibly go down well with everybody 🤔

As the most "normal" character, Tsubaki is certainly in for a bumpy ride, in a number of ways 😅

I can totally imagine Renka childishly exclaiming "For Science!" before the experiments started, heh. Mercifully, thanks to article 9 of their constitution, she doesn't initiate confrontation with any enemies and sticks thoroughly to the whole self-defence idea or the defence of an ally/ civilian throughout the series. I had basic plans somewhere to further expand on this thinking and how Kasumi feels about combat in the side series 🤔

Not sure if "the more, the merrier" applies to this group of oddballs, but it's certainly more lively with the four of them together😄

If it's more Kasumi that you seek, then you'll not have to wait too long :)

I'm not sure if it's still common practise, but we got the phrase "quieten down" drilled into us from a pretty young age by nursery and primary school teachers uttering it ad infinitum here; those were fun times... :3

The Renka paradox; forcing the issue and not forcing the issue simultaneously 😄

That's a major relief to hear; in theory, of the main characters, there's no "one true protagonist" so to speak and it's left for the audience to pick or decide. (There is an origin character, but that's only mentioned in the side series, thanks to special circumstances 🙃) It has maybe resulted in some restrictions in places, but trying to keep the four heroines vaguely balanced in terms of ability was extremely tricky.

The effects of lawlessness :( Not an ideal solution, but at least there was some force to fill in the gap. You can give an ordinary street gang all sorts of resources, but at the end of the day, they are still an ordinary street gang, I guess 😄

Every time I introduce a new lone female of similar age to the heroines, I get a similar comment (this also happened in testing with Haruka 😂😭). Being fully honest; there are plans to bring high relationship drama at a later point in the series 🤐

Not gonna lie; now that you've mentioned it, "muffle" probably fits better; thanks for pointing it out :) The line break was for a pause that I didn't want to tag, heh.

Hehe; Renka was a favourite among most of the test readers 🧡 I'm not sure exactly whether she uses "Kasumi-sama" or takes the (GuP) Yukari Akiyama route and uses dono, but her usage of either conveniently helps in phase II and beyond with identifying who's speaking :)

For a hanabi-type character, she sure is taking her time with making a move though 😅

Ah; the infamous orphanage incident 😮 Good to see her turn the negative circumstances into a driving force for personal development, even though she may have lost a bit of humanity along the way. Life's full of compromises, so I don't blame her.

Morals of the story being; never attempt to interfere with the affairs of two lilies and stay *very* far from one which has been separated 😅😐

The events leading up to Hina's pivotal decision reminds me of what an interesting character one said; "You play a beautiful game, but sometimes you still lose." ':/

I spy with my little eye some proper nouns with lowercase "h"s ("As Hina threw" and one instance of Hoshinaut)

In other news however; I heard that the series reached a hundred likes; congratulations! 🥳🎉

Yep; all totally non-romantic. Nothing to see here folks; as you were :P

I couldn't think of any realistic way to create a cliched scene with the flowers in the background, so passing through gardens had to suffice ':/ Though I avoided naming the scenic area explicitly, it's essentially Kyoto, with matching landmarks situated either side of the Kamogawa :)

What could be more nerve-racking than meeting the parents? Meeting the parents without an advanced warning. GG Hikari xD
