Oh! I saw 51 chapters and thought there was another after this! 😅
Okay, so this story was such a great time! (Pun intended!) I really enjoyed how much personality was put into the squad and had a lot of fun watching them fight against people abusing chrono energy to have their way with the world.
As for the story: From start to finish it was entertaining and had me questioning in the early on how time would be bent and warped to create all kinds of disruptions in reality. I like stories that use time like that, (It was partly how I got into writing all those years ago!) So I was very curious when I first started reading to see how you would handle it.
I liked the twist that Thane was the villain, and that he had such an impact, especially after we learn that he's doing this for his family. It's tragic that he couldn't help them, but I kinda like to think Jessie might have done something to maybe give them a second chance when he sacrificed himself.
As for the characters: All the squad was great! I loved their dynamic and saw them like a big family. Dax was for sure my favourite, and his character arc was great.
Jessie of course was the star of the show. Although at times I felt like he took a little back seat to let other characters shine too, such as Talia for instance during her character arc in the village, the same for Dax and all the others. His conflict with his past and his father's reputation was definitely something that helped me connect with him emotionally.
Also, Tidus had me in stiches half the time. The contest had quiet a few robots/AI characters, and including so I like to think they'd all get along. I can only imagen Tidus meeting Moukia 🤖🐭
As for the setting: There was a nice variety of places visited, but I think the place that stuck with me the most was the village where Talia had her character arc, or maybe when Jessie and Mira had their talk. I liked the village a lot because it showed hints of a simpler life in a world where people can use time tech to get things done quickly. Something about that is just gripping to me.
Overall, I really had fun reading and am sad that its over! But it did end on a happy note, so that's a great thing which makes me feel good! Thanks for the story, Katsu!
