Youāre correct about the exposition summary! I try to do that in places where I think that the story would get too slowed down if the characters just sat there and discussed it for a while. I feel it helps with the flow a little and keeps things moving, so Iām glad you appreciate it. And like you mentioned, Yalda just kindaā glosses over it in her mind š
In more lighthearted/action stories I write, I tend to do the *SOUND* thing, since I think it adds a little action to the page. Iāve also gotten good feedback from people on it before, so I pepper these in when I think it works.
Iāve been a little worried that the threat of low mana affliction wouldnāt come off as serious enough to the audience by this chapter, so Iām glad you pointed that out here as a real threat. I never thought of it like Dark Souls, but thatās absolutely on point! Later on, this comparison actually fits even better, but I wonāt spoil that part.

I wonāt spoil anything about what Grandpa Goblin was talking about, but keep making theories! I like to know what you're thinking with that.
As for the Three Laws of Robotics, wait till you hear what her fatherās full name is lol
Iām glad the Talking Tree brought the whole chapter together! Your feedback with that is actually big, because now I kindaā know what direction Iām taking new chapters going forward. THANK YOU!
The Ancient Dragon! This song just unlocked a lot of memories in my head of boss fights and memes lol š
As always, thanks for reading and commenting, Han! (Glad you spotted another Minecraft reference lol)
