As I suspected, this novel really is something special. I've found my new comfort read.
I randomly clicked on this novel and I'm immediately glad I did. This is shaping up to be a special journey.
Beside a confusing lack of dialogue tags near the end and overuse of "their" at some points this was a very solid chapter. I'm in love with your descriptions.

Aldo's role in the story grew far beyond what I initially had planned for him, and I kind of love that. Now it's onward to new adventures (after a certain defining moment 👀)
This feels like a poem. I'm sure I'll need to pause on every other line to let their meaning soak through in coming chapters if this prologue is anything to go by. It's been a while since I read such a poetic and meaning-laden style, keep it up!
