Wait. Nanna can transform back into human??? But just one night a month? 😭 Thank goodness she has a dress to wear. And maybe as a human she can help bandage his wounds? 🥺 But no...even Reod confirms that Paltar is dying.

Nanna still doesn't think of Paltar as believing in romance 😭 and she still thinks of herself as bound to her position as a princess. Hopefully soon, Nanna's ideas about that will change! These two deserve to be happy together!

But the price for saving Paltar was Nanna giving up her ability to talk to him...or even remember him? 😭 But doesn't that make her and Paltar strangers again? Won't that be boring for Reod to watch? Ahhh 😖 I am so sad for Nanna!

Lewis' grave 😭😭😭😭 is this Ellie saying goodbye?? Nooo that is so sad...I wish her words could reach him. But I think in a way, they already have, through Lucia.

"Tropes aren't real" 🤣 ahahaha but in a way this time, it is real. Really, I'm glad we got to see Layn, Lucia, Selina, and Alwey all here to help close out this epilogue and show that their adventures continue on. Though I'll say the last chapter before this felt much more like an ending 👍 this one felt like an after-the-credits bonus scene!

Congratulations on finishing the novel!!! 🎉👏👏👏 Do you think this marks the end of their journey, or do you have more content in mind? I see so much potential here, but I also see this as a good closing point for the characters. Ahahaha Layn! The undead and the miasma are an ever-present problem and...my boy is thinking about dates 🤣🤣🤣 you know, sitting in the grass together, enjoying the morning, isn't too bad of a date idea! They are very cute together!

A love confession!!! Aaaah! For both of them, really, I think they're finally realizing their feelings. And the comparison of Layn being stuck in the past, while Lucia was so focused on the mission of her future, really fits their dynamic. And both of those things are (possibly) something they need to let go. (Does this mean Lucia intends to let go of her revenge and her mission though? 🤔 Or maybe it just means she's going to not be so *stuck* to it, and will be willing to let others help her rebuild the kingdom and fight back the miasma, without trying to do it all herself.)

Hand holding!!! 😆 It is slightly romantic progress! And it's kind of cute that Layn notices that.

"Promise me you will live a happy life." Those are tough parting words. I understand why the king might have said them, meaning well 😭 but a promise like that can just as quickly become shackles of "I *must* become happy" ...or in Lucia's case, just something she couldn't comprehend, because she was so absorbed in revenge. Happiness felt like something she could only achieve *after* she'd completed her vengeance.

But being with Layn lets her feel love and happiness again 🥹 so that's what she meant! And a kiss!!

I am happy for them 🥰 and maybe together hope that Layn can overcome his self doubts (for her), and Lucia can overcome her inner hatred and vengeance (for him)

Hey there!! Last few weeks of the contest got crazy and then we had a huge storm where I live that knocked out our power and internet for a long time 🥲 I'm catching up with reading now!!!

Layn fully remembers who he is, and the mistakes he made with Ellie...right now, as Lucia asks him to go with her. An eerily similar situation, in a way. Though Lucia isn't asking him to elope, she's still asking him to work towards the future, and be brave. The exact same things that scared him so much before.

I'm glad he told Lucia everything though 🥺 and so glad that Lucia trusts in him. Layn isn't the same person he used to be anymore. He really has changed!! More than just from overcoming regrets, but because Layn wanted to become stronger 💪 of his own choosing 👏

Now is it Lucia's story? A story about her brother, perhaps? And the blade that she inherited, and why this all means so much to her? 🤩

Adanita starting to question the strange Governor that she picked up, huh? She has all the rights to doubt him, and yet, his assistance and his plan might be the best shot she has! Still, betrayal would be a big problem 🤔 Nita doesn't know Rosamund's inner thoughts like we (the readers) do!

Teo is here to provide a second opinion on all this insanity!! 🤣 Yes more Teoooo!!! 👏👏 Teo definitely thinks the plan is crazy and that Rosamund can't really be trusted. Which is a fair assessment. But Adanita is starting to be won over by Rosamund's crazy stories that are somehow...just real enough to seem true 😆

So far, "Wanting to save his brother Lilac" seems to be the thing they can trust most about Rosamund. After that 🤔 Rosa might abandon them. So maybe it would be in Nita and Teo's best interests to...keep some kind of threat to Lilac? Without making Rosamund upset?? Hmmm!

He sees where the royal pardon went wrong last time...and maybe with his ability to navigate the intricacies of the legal system, things could go differently this time? Plus with the goal of the Cove getting recognized as its own country 🤩 oooh!

And was Duchess Almukantarat the "porcelain witch" then? 😆 I feel like I should have put that together but probably because of my pause in reading I forgot! Oh my gosh the Duchess's name though, forgive me if I ever spell that wrong 🥲 my dyslexic mind is doing it's best. (I love the sounds of all the names in your story though. Saying them out loud is really fun!)

This whole plan sounds like a huge gamble, but I feel like Rosamund might just be crazy and conniving (and beautiful ✨) enough to pull it off! (What does beauty have to do with it? 😆 Nothing and everything! Rosamund is just a fabulous gentleman!)
