Author's Commentary #284:
Time to talk about Chapter 284: Kneel before queen Jadwiga.
I've been waiting to post this one. Not only does it introduce two new characters who I'm quite fond of, but it also marks the prelude to one of the best sections of this arc, not to mention a game that will easily be making the next edition of my top 10 favorite games in the series. So without further ado, let's do the bios.
ヤドヴィガ・アブガロヴィチ (Jadwiga Abgarowicz) is how Jadwiga's name is spelled in katakana. She shares her name with Jadwiga of Poland, the first woman to be crowned as monarch of the Kingdom of Poland, which has contributed to her having such a massive ego.
Her birthday is October 16th, which is the day Jadwiga of Poland began her reign as queen of Poland.
Her favorite piece is the queen for obvious reasons.
アルーラ・ジュマガジエワ (Allura Zhumagaziyeva) is how her name is spelled in katakana. Аллура Жұмағазиева (Allura Zhumagaziyeva) is how her name would be spelled in Kazakh.

Her birthday is January 12th, which she shares with Kazakhstani grandmaster, Zhansaya Abdumalik.
Her favorite piece is the pawn, as she views them as her adoring fans.
Allura is actually a famous Kazakhstani celebrity and is the country's equivalent of Taylor Swift. She lives in Hollywood, California, but represents her home country of Kazakhstan when playing chess. She also constantly refers to herself in the third person. Even when acting, she'll always refer to the character she's playing in the third person.
Both Allura and Jadwiga are easily characters I'm really fond of. Most of it lies in the writing for them as I feel they're both some of the more uniquely written characters, even though they draw from notable character archetypes. I also feel my fondness for Jadwiga might also be due to the game she'll play against Okisato.
I'm not overhyping this when I say, this upcoming game is amazing and I easily regard it as one of my finest works. It's undoubtably making it into the top 10, maybe even top 5 of the next iteration of my top 10 favorite games list.
Speaking of which, I'll confirm that will be coming out following Season 7's conclusion. This way, I can factor in all the games and characters when doing the list. I hope you're looking forward to it.
