I'm sort of in the same boat with lolitroy. I feel this could work as sort of a crazy spin-off type story, but that's the thing. Without past context, it's hard to appreciate the connections, and even then, this being a sequel to Grace is the main reason I decided to read this. If it wasn't, I'd say I probably wouldn't have checked it out as the synopsis alone wasn't enough to draw me in.

Author's Commentary #566:

Time to talk about Chapter 566: Hyperaccelerated bald dragon.
Rawr, move over Ruri Dragon, there's a new cuter and bald dragon waifu in town, Mimoko Inoue. Yet despite this sounding like something I had been waiting to post for a while, I only came up with the schtick last-minute. But before that, now that Stanislava has been revealed to be the woman that was with Jordan and Mimoko Tanabe back in Chapter 554: A tour of the rogues gallery, it's time to do her bio.

スタニスラヴァ・ドロズドヴァ (Stanislava Drozdová) is how Stanislava's name would be spelled in katakana. Станіслава Дроздава (Stanislava Drozdová) is how it would be spelled in Belarussian.
(If I made any mistakes with the translations, feel free to correct me).

Her birthday is April 9th. I chose this date at random, so there's no greater significance behind why this date is her birthday.

Her favorite piece is the queen.

As for the game, it features a Sicilian Defense: Hyperaccelerated Dragon Variation, with a Sicilian Defense: Hyperaccelerated Dragon, Fianchetto, Pterodactyl Defense briefly being featured. It was played against Chess.com's 1600-rated level 12 engine bot, which makes sense given Stanislava's true strength is around 1500-level. The game's quick end with the castling into mate blunder was what made things very appealing to me, and since the opening has "dragon" in the title, I thought I'd have Mimoko do a cute "Rawr" for all of us. You can bet that in a hypothetical light novel adaptation, the rawr would most certainly be an illustration.

If you're on Discord, there is a Chess in the Park app we can play in Honey cafe. Though in terms of becoming a GM, it's not as simple as getting 2500. It'll be explained later in the story, but the titled system is essentially the same as the real-life one, with FIDE master being replaced with WWCF master as FIDE doesn't exist in the story with the WWCF being it's equivalent. Candidate master can be reached simply by achieving a rating of 2200. FIDE master, WWCF master in this universe, is reached by achieving a rating of 2300. However, when you get to international master, you not only need to achieve a rating of 2400, but also secure three norms. Norms are considered tournament performance ratings and usually require you to both perform at a certain level and face a minimum number of players with the title you are seeking. For example, to get a norm, you'd need to have a 5/7 tournament performance and face a total of 3 international masters. It's similar with grandmaster as not only do you need to get a rating of 2500, you also need to get three norms, which is easier said than done as you need a performance rating of 2600 with at least 33% of the opponents being grandmasters, 50% holding a FIDE title higher than candidate master, the average opponent rating being at least 2380, and at that the opponents must come from at least three different federations, which can include the players own. There are added stipulations that a maximum of 66% can come from a single federation with it being 60% from the player's own federation. One of the three norms must also be earned at a Swiss tournament with at least 40 participants of an average rating of 2000. There are also women-exclusive titles such as women's candidate master which is earned simply by reaching 2000, women's FIDE master, women's WWCF master in this universe, which requires you to reach 2100, women's international master, which requires a rating of 2200 and three norms, and finally women's grandmaster which requires a rating of 2300 and three norms. International master and grandmaster are both higher titles than grandmaster, which usually results in female players ditching the WGM title once they reach IM, as it's the more prestigious title. There are also ways to get the GM title without fulfilling the 3 norms and rating requirement. So long as the player has achieved a peak rating of 2300 or above at any point in their career, they can be awarded the GM title outright by reaching the final 16 in the FIDE chess world cup, winning the women's chess world cup, winning the world junior chess championship, winning the world senior chess championship, or by winning a continental chess championship. One famous example of the conditions being waved was with 8th World Chess Champion, Mikhail Tal, who was given his GM title after winning the 1957 USSR Chess Championship despite not having played enough games to get the title at the time. This time Mimoko finally gets to show off her prowess, but not fully since the principal is bad both as a person and chess player. His strength lies more in shogi, but even there, he's simply above average. At least Mimoko won and got the chess club approved, but Gyro looks like he's gonna be a huge problem later on.

Not really. In chess, most grandmasters are between 2500 and 2800 with the current world number 1, Magnus Carlsen, being 2839. His peak record in Classical was 2882, and on Chess.com, he has a rating over 3000. n blitz, he has come close to breaking 3000 too. As for me, it took me years just to get to 1000. I do feel that if I sat down and studied a bit more, I could maybe get 1500, but I doubt my peak would ever be higher than 2000.

Time to talk about Chapter 565: Fixed odds.
Mimoko just can't catch a break. First she finds out her hair can't grow back, then she gets kidnapped and nearly sold as a slave, then she manages to break free and rope a Desperado into a DESPER match, however that seems to all be according to plan.

If you remember correctly, the woman dragged into the DESPER match was actually the one that was with Mimoko Tanabe and Jordan back in Chapter 554: A tour of the rogues gallery. This further clouds the waters as to what's truly going on, but one thing for sure is that Mimoko probably won't figure out what it is, nor even be aware of the true extent of things as should she win, she'll just be warped back home with her hair again, no issue.
