Going to read the rest of this but stopping to say this is genuinely one of the well-crafted first chapters I think I've ever read. The pacing, and balance between dialogue and prose is masterful. You also got me chuckling at almost every line. On to the next chapter!
I like what I've read so far! Your writing style is clean and flows well. This chapter was really cute. Love the interactions between Miles and Ramona.
I still laugh every time Stella struggles with his name. loving all the chapter titles btw. ( i_understood_that_reference.gif )

Thank you for reading and commenting!!! My intent for the dialogue markers was so you could understand what was going on and keep track of conversations, especially for those readers who like to "skim" or "skip" past sections 😅
Intriguing setup, makes me want to read more. I like the small glimpses into Stella's past of a very different world, and what her duty was back then. Her being so fixated on wastefulness and resources is cute. Looking foward to more!
