cute stuff. Takumi is almost a brat but it’s tolerable. the punch was a funny surprise. I’m curious about Yuna but I appreciate how you write her needing to formulate her response and pick her words. that’s a nice character detail.

it is! there are definitely a few more moments to breathe but yes, Izhari is one of the three women of rage from my concept trilogy, so this story is appropriately dark.

I usually don’t like a lot of isekai. I feel like the isekai’d person often adjusts way too casually or it’s like a game they know so they know the plot point a and character motivations etc. I wanted Songstress and Salaryman to be against that. like this should be a terrifying, confusing experience. that’s way more interesting to me. and I liked the idea of Tomita’s human issues following him. like addiction and back pain don’t go away just because you enter a new realm.

yep! it was a wonderful full circle moment. I wanted this story to really have defined bookends. there are so many in the story. Sayane cries out for help at the beginning and the first thing Azag says to her is that he can help. Sayane is depressed and broken with her voice packaged. are frees the other songstresses who had extreme versions of that, and comes to peace to acknowledge that life is beautiful. she sings the chorus from this song when she first arrives in Illarios, and it’s what she ends the journey with. it goes from a broken, somber song into something hopeful. she was crushed by something falling above her and now she’s confronted by a dreadnought above her. so many little moments. what a ride. our beautiful, amazing songstress.
