I love this comment. thank you so much. it's funny: when wrote this chapter, I did it in one sitting, first draft, no edits. I sat back and told my wife, “this might be one of the best things I've written, but I may have just disqualified myself...” I even mentioned it on discord lol. I knew it was either going to be a hit, make me come off like a creep, or get me dq’d. but I wanted to leave it in as is because it’s such a big culmination. it’s a very mature conclusion to so much of Sayane and Azag’s journey. not just the sexuality, but their touch and the way their story is tied to broader goals. this isn’t just about them finally being together. and Azag, to his supreme credit, understands and doesn’t back down. he knows Sayane is doing this for a reason, and even though three months ago he was stuttering to speak to others, he is willing to do this in front of thousands. and I’m glad you appreciate all the descriptions. it’s funny this was by far the song I had the least amount of real world reference for. On all the other songs I had a general idea of like, oh this breakdown is great I’ll think of that, oh I like this chorus. but Deflowered was empty so it was purely in my head.
and humorously enough, neither Unbroken nor Deflowered are my favorite songs or chapters. they were definitely the most fun to write, but without spoilers, the final song is my favorite by far. it brings the entire story full circle and is such a beautiful moment for Sayane. you’ll see my comments with Mara there, but there is a specific image from the final song that was actually the catalyst image for the story. I imagined a girl in a sci fi fantasy world, bloodied, bruised, yet crying and spinning in joyous abandon and full of peace. so I did legit write the entire story to build to that moment. you’ll see. get ready. basically every chapter from here has some sort of oh wow/ohhhh shit moment, plus a few major surprises.
I’m so happy you made it back to this chapter now with full context. and I’m happy my original goal succeeded for this section. Deflowered will probably beat out No More Crying and the final song for popularity, and in many ways rightfully so. but I’m very grateful that so many like you are seeing it is more than just hornyfeed! and I’m so happy you read Our Last Night right afterwards. they’re sibling chapters and meant to be read together for the full emotional and narrative perspective.
