I’m so glad the emotion and chaos of this chapter hit the way I hoped!

I really wanted Melissa’s transformation to feel epic... I even rewatched the scene where Goku first goes Super Saiyan for inspiration 😅 (a bit cringing to admit lol)

Though I wanted it a little more unexpected in tone.

So hearing that it gave you chills made me ridiculously happy!

It was also important to me that Melissa wasn’t a damsel in distress.

From early on, she’s been carving her own path, and somewhere along the way, she kinda became the true mc. xD

Lucius still matters deeply, of course, but they’re walking very different roads now. Whether those roads ever meet again… we’ll see. :P

Anyway I’m thrilled you noticed all the details so thanks again for always reading so deeply and feeling every moment.

I’m really glad the contrast between Lucius’s divine encounter and Melissa’s brutal reality came through the way it did.

Btw it honestly made me smile that you mentioned Lovecraft! I’ve devoured his stories and he’s been a huge influence on how I write atmosphere and dread. :3

Funny little detail:

this chapter was one of the last I completely reworked before the deadline, and that final line about the fried cheese skewers was actually a late addition.

So it makes me extra happy that it stood out to you and gave the moment the touch of humanity I felt it lacked before.

Ehh don’t worry about the Eurnar/Nira/Mai scene! After rereading it, it actually clicks really nicely, especially now knowing what it was hinting at :)

The subtle confusion totally fits Kade’s mental state, so I think it works just fine 👍

The way you built up Kade’s arc... all the pain, longing, and eventual “rebirth” just hits so deep. I can really feel how much love and effort you put into writing it.

For the Japan prompt I'm not familiar enough with their culture and I don't want to write a Western-minded rip-off.

And the Romance stuff... Don't think I'm good at this when it's supposed to be some real world Romeo&Juliet kinda story...

I like the vivid writing style and the whole primeval atmosphere you created there. And then the romans talking in latin *chef's kiss*. Love that you did that.

It makes an Isekai feel much more realistic and relatable when there a language barriers in my opinion (although it's a pain in the ass to write lol)

Daaamn why do you have to hurt me in this way?

That flashback was truely heartbreaking! Kade confessing his feeling for Mai, and then you even reveal she was just paid by his parents, damn that was too much... 😭

In the previous chapter I didn't actually got what was going on first, when his memories mixed with Eurnars (when he mixed up Mai and Neri), so I had to read it again after I read this chapter to truly understand the whole twist, but that's just me being too stupid to read properly xD

But what an awesome twist that was! The whole revealing of Kade becoming Kade, how the "Blue" of his magic was being formed by his own longing and his own wish to be not weak anymore

And then the last line, with him welcoming the light, when we see how he actually got isekaid before chapter 1 starts... it was just the perfect conclusion for the chapter and his journey so far, fantastic! ❤️

The fighting goes on! <3

Feels epic that we got so much different battles going on, I can imagine it so well as an anime adaption already

I also really love how this battle contrasts with the previous one between Lantar and Galir! While that fight was raw, physical, and emotional, this one feels completely different... a clash of minds as much as of power.
The use of Ayen’s illusion magic, adds such a clever psychological layer and seeing Doravis struggle not just against her opponents, but against her own inner conflict, makes the fight so much deeper. When she finally decides to switch sides, it feels like such a rewarding and powerful moment.

A brilliant twist and an even better outcome, absolutely loved how it all came together!

In the original version (and especially the German version), the story went a lot deeper into Lucius and Melissa’s relationship., but I had to trim it down to fit the light novel style for the contest (wasnt rlly used to light novel style before that contest..)
Guess I’ll have to release a “director’s cut” someday :D

This chapter actually really drained me emotionally to write, so it’s amazing to hear that it hit the way I hoped.

The ending was especially tough... I wanted it to hurt, but not just pain for pain’s sake but meaningful and still with a spark of hope...
