Nice chapter!
Things are finally getting serious for Kade, it seems. His initial shock when he realizes he might’ve actually killed Lantar felt really believable, and his determination afterward, shaped by Hanel’s and Galir’s lessons, was a great touch.

But one question keeps bugging me… Where Akalis!? She is absent for like 6 chapters, I hope you didn't forget her xD

Nice work

This story feels really different from the other one though.

You captured that “teenage girl talk” style really well, it feels natural and fun to read.

Also curious to see how the horror element will come into play later on :3

Funny enough, the 20th April pick was pure coincidence, it was actually just the most logical date for my story since the Allies were already advancing on Rangoon (Battle of Elephant Point) while the Japanese hadn’t fully withdrawn yet.

I really liked how the Triad justified the planned examinations by connecting them to Elsen’s link with the Calling (Galir: unblessed, Kade: blessed but without alignment).

From their perspective, this actually makes a lot of sense, especially since every anomaly in magical inheritance would naturally seem worth investigating.

Akalis’s internal struggle was also very well portrayed. The way she managed to make them atleast consider her proposal of the oath (already curious how thats gonna be lol) was written convincingly, and I could genuinely feel the tension in that moment.

I must say, Akalis is my favorite so far, she’s definitely the most interesting character to me.

I really like how this story doesn’t go the “magical cure” route that so many suicide isekai take.

The MC isn’t suddenly healed of his suicidal thoughts just because he’s in another world, instead, he’s still struggling and even tries again right away.

The narrative style also stands out a lot compared to most stories here on HF.

Makes it feel original and definitely refreshing to read.
