I, too, have caught up after a very busy work schedule.
With grammatical issues addressed, the pacing is a hit or miss, some parts feel skimmed over and abrupt. It's like stuff is just happening. (Much like my critiques from prior chapters, which I don't feel like I should elaborate.) This is where I feel the story's potential suffers for me.
However, I think the character's emotions, though need some let's say, refinement, conveys well enough. And the settings feel a little more fleshed out.
With that said, best of luck and I'll keep on reading... For curiousity's sake.
