This chapter was another fantastic pivot point, and I am absolutely here for the tournament arc! The shift from that café incident to this huge, public stage feels like the story just kicked into high gear.
Loved the assembly scene. The physical divide in the auditorium said everything about this society, and the principal's smug speech was infuriating.
It perfectly set up the stakes though. Hale's immediate idea to use the tournament as a way to reach Nekogami is smart, but the danger is palpable. The logistics sound impossible, which makes Hiro's reluctant agreement to help even more tense. You just know those forged documents are going to come back to haunt them.
But my favorite moment was the quiet scene between Mitsuki and Koori. I loved their friendship..
And Koori! Her fascinated horror at Fifty Tints of Fur had me cackling.
The ending with Hale has me so hyped. I can't wait to see him learn to control his ice, and to see what kind of chaos they cause at the qualifiers. The fact that Purimura was there, watching, just adds another delicious layer of dread. Let the games begin!
