Pliniad: Roman Genius Will Unite This Godforsaken Realm

Chapter:44

Oct 30, 2025

Can't read! 😂
Punchy final line 😆

As for the Greek slaves bit: I'm sure there would definitely be Romans regarding Greeks as mere slaves... but I'm not sure if Pomponianus would be one of them.
Because in reality, Romans owed a lot to the Greeks (philosophy, democracy, arts etc. Even warfare, as they borrowed the phalanx at first until they evolved the way to beat it... and ended up with the more versatile legion) and most "educated" Romans new that.

That said, I see why the argument was necessary. It was well written and resulted well too 👍

"The City is ours, we just have to take it."
Very, very nice last line! 👍

I also think switching the point of view to Barbara's was a great decision; it really increased the immersion factor. Frankly, I'd love to read more from her perspective in general (maybe that could even be a whole 'nother book 📖).

Ah, why not?!
The griffin author sounds so intriguing!
I bet he could even come out on top of the competition (the same way Odysseus did: with bow and arrow 😆). Maybe he'll even write a book about it!

Nice 👍🏻
Stakes are higher now. Normal tension became real tension.

Plus, Shien cried in front of his crush --- I mean!
...he's probably about to hear the "I like you too", or evenget kissed.
Who knows?

I'm glad you asked; this information is going to be part of the appendices now 👍🏻

The 'Tarl-' part comes from the Tarlroot, a fictional root used to make their famous Tarlroot Ale and other products.

The '-mere' part comes from the 'upwards' streaming salty river that flows near Tarlmere. This river (which is referenced in the chapters 'Outskirts' and either 'The Blue Lake' or 'The Ascend', or both) was either a whole sea historically or was intended to be a sea at some point.
But, nowadays, things are quite unstable in the Outskirts.

Lameth was one of Tarlmere's guards. He was fighting by Roric's side and, should you count them, he was the last remaining.
His name is one letter away from a real historical name.
And, to be honest, just sounded nice 🙂

Btw, thank you for confirming (having experienced something similar) that I described it well.
I'm glad it reasoned with you 😊

I have had a similar experience myself, while serving in the army. I too was sleep deprived for a long ng period.

"Never able to---well, you know..."

Hahaha 😂 Nice 👍🏻
This bit really cracked me up.
The more I pictured it, the funnier I imagined her expression when Olivia paused to finish with "---well, you know..." 😄

Oh, Cecile is also great 👍🏻

Given more days, the whole book would be way richer.
And maybe it also will become, one day, after the contest ends 👍🏻

P.S. As always, thanks, fir reading! 😊
