Yeah... Poor Yuame was so excited to meet another youkai, and then to be so hated by association... 🥺

Thank you! Kaoru was never going to win from the tengu in a straight up fight, he knew that from the start. He thought quick and managed to lure him away from Yuame at least - then took a couple more beatings until he managed to escape as well. He got guts, my tanuki boy!

Tanuki are traditionally considered less sneaky than foxes, and a lot more gullible. They rarely become villains because they're just as flawed and loveable!

Hahaha! Your 'complaints' certainly had me consider what my story would lack if I was wholly serious about the LN contest, so it was actually really valueable! I may have decided to forego the contest alltogether this time, but reading your work really taught me a lot about LN in general, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to give extended feedback!

Dawww, you're so welcome 🥹 I have to thank YOU for writing such a compelling story with so many elements I love. I first picked it up because of the cover (hot kitsune guy, hello) and the title, then the summary gave me enough incentive to read the first chapter. And from my comments, I guess you can tell I was instantly hooked. And you've kept my attention all throughout - I checked every day for new chapters, and they were always one of the highlights of my day, making my terrible Tokyo commute bearable.

I love the conclusion you gave this story, bittersweet and sad, yet hopeful. I am definitely looking forward to more! But first, take that well-deserved break!
