Ohhh two chapters!! Don’t mind if I do 😍
I had to read on immediately so here are my comments on both chapters:
I really like how you’re using the “romance” aspect in your story without it being full on romance; they’re literally attached and feel each other’s emotions, they go through trauma together. Words are unnecessary but carry weight when spoken. “I don’t want you to die.” But because of this trauma-bond it could also be argued that they are “just” becoming co-dependent. Either way, I’m loving it. The implication that they slept in the same bed in the previous chapter made me squeal, hehe.
Getting the support of the victims to use their bond against the yurei makes sense too. They might/will? still die, but they’re going to fight. Whew.
Now this chapter. Finally the Hikari reveal! I am very intrigued but I need to ask to make sure I’m getting it right: so Hikari was human before becoming a digital nekomata? Or was she already non-human/ had abilities that let her detect Rei’s traits? Also, I first couldn’t grasp how one becomes a digital yokai but they do say that ghosts and other supernatural beings use electricity and power networks… so that also makes sense.
Finally, you using all of these locations in Tokyo is tickling me in all the right ways; I can’t pass through Shinjuku/Shibuya or especially by the Tokyo dome now without thinking of your story!
