Hello, I'm Joe Gold. I'm a writer of web novels and short stories, all set in my own original multiverse.
I'm a lifelong anime, comic book, and video game fan, and my fiction is often reminiscent of the series I grew up with.
What is an Achievement?

Circus Arc, that's a good name for it. The Ringmaster is yet another reminder to me to 'write what you know'. I set the novel in Texas, but I'm from the UK, so I keep on having to import characters from the UK to Texas because I find them easier to write. 😆😭😡
Thanks, Fuji! I felt that the characters needed a little more depth. Mezu is your typical stock shonen rival (Sasuke, Vegeta, Killua, etc.), so I thought showing his human side was needed. I also gave him an evil twin just to fit the trope (Itachi, etc.).

Also, you do action scenes very well. Very well articulated.
Great! 'Clap, clap, clap!' You wonderfully portrayed Yang's dehumanisation over that endless course of time! And the fact that he felt all the pain of the colleseum in the forest was perfect! I'm guessing this is like a puzzle story where the MC has to solve certain challenges in each area? Also, this reminds me a lot of Kuro no Maou: https://www.novelupdates.com/series/kuro-no-maou/
I like this Cas. It's mysterious and lonely. It captures the feelings one would have if they were kidnapped very well. Even Yang's family gives off a sense of eeriness at the start. The alien mansion is described well. Plus, I REALLY like the cover.

Thanks, Cas. You'll see the King in Yellow a handful of times throughout the story. Not too much; not too little. If you're going to binge this, you're in for a wild ride. The story goes all over the place.
Thanks for the vote of confidence about the competition. I feel like the mature, healthy thing for me to to do now is to move on and enter other writing competitions so that if this is as far as I go, it won't be the end of the world.

Thanks for your dedication. 👍
I really hope they do more competitions. I sort of feel lost without one to work towards. 😪
Thanks, Fox. I'm not sure about the ending myself. I wrote it while sleep deprived. It leaves an open ending, which is what the competition wanted, but part of me feels like it would have been better for Jack to accidentally kill Marilyn. Can't do anything now though; can't edit your novel after the competition closes and all.
Anyway, thank you for reading to the end. You've been a wonderful fan!
Oh yeah. You did, didn't you? Damn. I could have had him killing a bunch of slashers, but even that would have just been one line due to time constraints.
It was always going to be a one-sided battle where Sam trounced everyone, but it just would have been written better had I more time. Oh well.
What? The slow motion? I don't remember referencing John Wick.
I'm glad that came across. Mezu finally became the samurai that he'd always wanted to be. 😪
She's a tough Canuck! 😡
Ha! I was going to go with 'slightly less evil villians', but that wasn't as good.
