1. I find nothing wrong with how you describe things.

2. I vote in favour of not dividing chapters into parts.

3. The story is much easier to follow if you've read UnderCurrent, but it's not confusing on its own; you just need to pay attention.

Introduction:
I would like to take a moment to point out how beautiful the sounds are. My personal favourites so far are "Kihhh", "Ada", and "Grwgahu".

Short rant:
Tensain is weird. Renka is obviously into him, but he insists on pursuing a girl who's not even 3-D. Renka cleaned his apartment and literally fed him, yet this dude simply refuses to see her as waifu material.
ALTaccounti said it best: "I deadass feel bad for Renka she is legit perfect waifu material, the way my man is doing her dirty for non existent coochie is beyond me..."

"Feedback":
Did Renka visit him daily to clean his apartment, or did she live with him right through the week of cleaning? Maybe you could clarify that in the text.

Also, did Tensain really get his PhD at 21? That's pretty uncommon.
