I had thought it was a lovestruck coincidence that so many things in the city were reminding him of Chika, when it turns out she has revolutionizing the whole city with her earthly powers! I wonder if her motivations are similar to the way you described your original first chapter…?
Really nice worldbuilding, and planting the seeds of romance pretty early too, even if it’s surface-level fascination at the moment (and Thelian questions it himself too hahaha), though she’s angry at him now---getting started on the wrong foot is always a good way to begin a relationship ;D

the contrast between life and death is highlighted really nicely here, as coexisting instead of opposites in Ryu’s case! I liked the lowkey world/scene building as you unfold the story :D I also really enjoyed the punchy dialogue without any dialogue tags, whether intentional or not, feels like a nod to the original short story. You fleshed out your characters and character voice really well in such a short story, while still giving us a limited view, like a small snippet into their lives through a window if that makes any sense. I think my favourite part is the description of Thanatos’ arrow, it’s brought up so casually, but with pretty alarming implications.

I have no thorough feedback to offer unfortunately 😭 I just found this really well-done!

I definitely tried to squeeze too much into the limited word count, and the disjointed scenes were used more as a crutch than for effective storytelling so it’s really helpful to know that this is something that shows. and yep, that's exactly right! in the end this story is kind of a prologue, there's so much they need to do, they'll never catch a break, whew!

yep, this is the first time it's been mentioned, unfortunately! if I'd written more for the Mahogainy & otome-world-traversing plotline, I'd have liked to incorporate more of it, and YES that's pretty much what I was going for!! kinda odd for people to be isekai'd into a world with the exact same name, it surely isn't a coincidence....!

The description of the passenger lady sounded very eerie, while the driver seemed to take everything in stride---until we realize that this whole situation is weird. 😱

You do a really good job conveying that something isn’t quite right, subtly at the start, and by the time there's the “help me” things start to feel REALLY alarming, and everything just goes down from there. And omggg….just as the driver decides to own up to the guilt D: D: D: I suppose it's karma in a way but oh man!!! 😭😭😭
