I'm a sucker for trying out pretty much anything with magic in the title, usually hinging on the first chapter sweeping me away into a magical world. This is one of those times. Even just the first bit that took place in the past seemed to really resonate with me and fill me with a deep sense of wonder. As the chapter went on, I wanted to know more and more about Dianoct and what exactly it was and how we were going to get there.
You did a really good job of capturing me very early on, and maintaining my interest throughout the entire chapter. If I was to give a little critique it would just be on the lack of physical description on their surroundings in this bit, I did find it hard to place myself or really imaging what everything looks like.
That said though, the way you've structured the prose is fast paced and perfect for reading on honeyfeed. Even stylistically it is appealing to look at and doesn't seem like a daunting quest to start on.
I look forward to reading more chapters as I go along, but just thought I'd leave this here.
