aight on a more serious note
I feel like it's slightly less hectic now, but I'm not sure if it's because I know the characters/world a bit better now, or because the story has actually slowed down a bit. Though I kiiind of understand what they're talking about, I still feel like an outsider eavesdropping on a debate with 0 context sometimes. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but it kind of reminds me of Final Fantasy 13 where a big complaint is that terms get thrown around way too early way too fast and we're just supposed to roll with it. Just when I think I'm familiar with some terms, though, new names and mythos shows up and I'm back to square one
doesn't help that the world is pretty distinct, which is good in a vacuum, but I'm ujtrnjklgtbsndghiaob about the constant new info.
With what said, characters and their interactions are quickly proving to be the strongest aspect as well as the 2-4% of the world building I can grasp so far (slight exaggeration). I would say the characters definitely have their 'archetype', but are fun and distinct enough that I'm interested, and trust that they will evolve past the template as the story goes on. My favorite duo by far is MADigan and Isolde. Alec and Roe are pretty cute, but I haven't seen enough of them yet to really form an opinion. Based purely from first thoughts, though, I'm afraid the dynamics might be kind of similar-ish between both duos in the sense that the girl is a bit more demure (for lack of a better term) while the guy is all suave and DnD thievy if you get it. We'll see though.
