in all seriousness though, I don't think there is a single entry I've read this year where the "flanderization" aspect isn't present, and I've been thinking about it in general
I feel like most of my bitching in every single chonkerpost ends up going on a tangent about characters gstting sidelined, not developed enough, etc.
is this a first draft issue? a time issue? a word count issue? because i've read standalone novels with big-ish casts that can at least develop 3-4 characters (anything more and they tread dangerous territory imo, unless they are chonkers)
the reason why I don't agree with it being flanderization is because that would imply deeper characters that get flatter as time goes on, and at least in my case, only two got any real development ahHaHh
it's a vol 1 "conclusion" rather than a real ending which is why I don't mind, but now I'm left wondering how many people this applies to regardless of how closed their ending was
