Hey there! I'm catching up with reading yoasobi entries x) I didn't think there would be another contest so soon!!
I found myself smiling while reading this, somehow, even knowing it was a story about the god of death. Just "Death's most embarrassing moment in his eternal life" being him trying to reap a soul of a young girl, and the girl just hands him a coin because she thinks he's a beggar xD this is oddly adorable to me <3
AND THE "ONE STONE, TWO BIRDS" punchline ๐ I feel bad at giggling at that xDDD (Our apathetic main-character-Girl is a tough crowd indeed.)
The coin-flip though followed up with the time reversal, ooooh that moment was so cool. I pictured it clearly in my head, and I have to say the writing there was SLEEK and nicely done~ That visual will stay with me.
And then the promise of Death: to make the Girl become the death-reaper for the next few centuries, unable to die, only for death to return to her ONCE the Girl HAS a reason to live. Oooh, that is a shiveringly cold concept. All through this short story I could sense your natural storytelling and humor, but also with a darker bend to it -- and I must say, I like this side of your writing too! It's chilling and haunting, and somehow the humorous moments make the serious ones seem even more intense! Fantastic stuff!!

(My notice that I must put on all yoasobi entries I comment on ๐คฃ **I strive to promote good mental health and generally won't read/comment on works containing self-harming concepts. But because the Yoasobi contest asks for these, I understand the inclusion in these entries. I greatly promote mental health awareness โค๏ธ So for anyone reading this in a dark place, please remember no feeling is final, and there is always a tomorrow. All the best!)
