While reading I had so many things to say about this but now when I finished I'm just enveloped in the vivacity of your words, quite speechless.
One thing that remained in my mind is I really enjoyed how you described the city. You didn't give a full view all at once. You sprinkled some images there and there, making the atmosphere slowly sink in.
Another thing, which I might have a bit of a pet peeve with, is your usage of 'callous'. You used it so much in the previous and this chapter, which makes wonder if you did it intentionally or not (tbf, it's not that many times that you used it, but it is a bit of a special adjective and it stands out when you use it more than a couple of times).
Thank you for writing, Ashe. As I said before, there's something about your prose that my brain attunes so quickly and puts me in such a mood. You are very intuitive on how to grasp reader's attention.
