Author's Commentary #577:
Time to talk about Chapter 577: Sticking to the plan.
Yuusuke's game might be over, but unlike in the planning stages, this arc won't solely be focused on him. Mimoko's getting equal focus especially with Mimoko Tanabe's looming shadow over all this.
Miga will also be getting a game debut, but before that happens, I need to talk about her playstyle. In general, she's more of a conservative, defensive player that only goes on the attack when she senses an opportunity. As such, she's known to frequently make draws. But she isn't rated over 2700 for nothing. She truly is strong, but as stated in the chapter, she prefers refereeing the game rather than playing it. In her mind, she's already proven herself worthy, and wants to retreat to the shadows, or in this case, the refereeing side, as she prefers the administrative desk work.
Ina meanwhile, isn't strong enough to get a promotion as high-ranking WWCF members are required to posses a certain prowess so that they are able to handle themselves should they be ambushed by Desperados, Deep Blue, the Fairy league, or any other hostile forces out there. Having a title is one of the basic requirements for getting such a high-ranking position in the WWCF. Should Ina end the tournament with a rating above 2000, she'll get the women's candidate master title, which will grant her more opportunities in the WWCF, and also force Miga to take a vacation and get a bald makeover.
The final thing to note is the light flickering. Yuusuke was there when it happened, but he was so out of it, he didn't realize it happened. Just thought I'd clarify that here in case anyone asked.
That's all for this commentary. I hope you enjoyed it.
