Author's Commentary #630:
Time to talk about Chapter 630: Spotlight #15: Nándor.
I originally wasn't going to include Nándor in this batch of spotlights, but figured that since he left such a large impact with his personality, he deserved the spotlight. Things are pretty straightforward with him, but the one big revelation is his age.
I originally had him at 69, but decided to add another 600 to it. That means he was born in 1355. As for his wizardry, he had to learn it from scratch as he had no wizard blood. He is truly a descendant of Attila the Hun.
Once he learned magic, it allowed him to live much longer than a normal human. In fact, he's one of the oldest characters in the series. It's thanks to this longevity that he was able to bear witness to some of chess' greatest moments, all of chess history as a matter of fact, since the late 1400s were said to be when modern chess began to take shape.
That's all for this commentary. I hope you enjoyed it.
