Author's Commentary #623:

Time to talk about Chapter 623: Spotlight #8: Aydan.
As promised, here's the chapter that was initially uploaded yesterday, but then unpublished and pushed back to today. The spotlight focuses on Aydan, who only had a brief cameo during Season 7, but has plenty going for her in terms of character and story.

With how she's presented, it's kind of hard not to like her. In-universe, a cult of sorts has formed around her, showcasing just how beloved she is. Yet there is always a hater as made clear by Aigul. I'll have more to discuss when Aigul's spotlight is uploaded.

Author's Commentary #622:

Time to talk about Chapter 622: Spotlight Prelude 1: The kind of person she is.
So first off, some of you might've caught a brief glimpse of Spotlight #8, which I briefly uploaded before unpublishing. Rest assured, that chapter will be up as tomorrow's upload.

As for the reason I made the change last-minute, I both wanted to release a short game today, and better build up Aydan and Aigul's characters. The chapter title is also a pun on World Kindness Day, which is the day the chapter was uploaded on. As such, I wanted the game to be one where not a single piece was captured. Thus, we got a Fool's Mate of sorts.

Truth be told, this could easily serve as an intro to a Side Story main series or spin-off. This is canon to the overall plot, and reveals that both Aydan and Aigul did used to have hair. It also confirms the two are the next two characters to receive spotlights.

It's one of my favorites. Felt the finale was a tad underwhelming, like it still had some more arcs that could have been in there. My big gripe would easily be the sidelining of Kyoko and Haru following the Milfiore arc, as a large part of the story was built around Tsuna hiding his mafia ties to try and keep them out of that world. Yet following the reveal, the two really weren't put in any exclusive danger as a direct result from learning the truth. I really would have loved to see an arc where a rival gang kidnapped them, mainly because it would really bring forth some big character moments from the whole cast. Like could you imagine seeing Tsuna truly pissed? Would've been an instant classic in my honest opinion. Not to mention, there were still some things left unexplored like the hell rings, the Cervello, the second largest family, it really does suck the ending was so abrupt. It'd be amazing if it were to come back, but I honestly don't think it will.

Author's Commentary #621:

Time to talk about Chapter 621: Spotlight #7: Francie.
Just as promised, the spotlights resume, though I'll admit I was debating delaying it for a day and instead slotting in a Kisha filler skit. Anyway, Francie's the topic of discussion here.

Unlike with the others, her spotlight focuses extensively on her after Season 7. I'm sure we all remember what Iori did to her as revenge for kidnapping her, but what you didn't know, was that her chess prowess hasn't gone down following everything that happened in Season 7. It's not increasing at a rapid pace either, but it's consistent. She might even end up returning as a major antagonist later on.
