Not really. In chess, most grandmasters are between 2500 and 2800 with the current world number 1, Magnus Carlsen, being 2839. His peak record in Classical was 2882, and on Chess.com, he has a rating over 3000. n blitz, he has come close to breaking 3000 too. As for me, it took me years just to get to 1000. I do feel that if I sat down and studied a bit more, I could maybe get 1500, but I doubt my peak would ever be higher than 2000.

Time to talk about Chapter 565: Fixed odds.
Mimoko just can't catch a break. First she finds out her hair can't grow back, then she gets kidnapped and nearly sold as a slave, then she manages to break free and rope a Desperado into a DESPER match, however that seems to all be according to plan.

If you remember correctly, the woman dragged into the DESPER match was actually the one that was with Mimoko Tanabe and Jordan back in Chapter 554: A tour of the rogues gallery. This further clouds the waters as to what's truly going on, but one thing for sure is that Mimoko probably won't figure out what it is, nor even be aware of the true extent of things as should she win, she'll just be warped back home with her hair again, no issue.

Well that explains why her cross is glowing and why everyone's always staring at her. Gotta agree with Kowa-sensei that Azel is not being very helpful. That and he pretty much pulled a "never meet your heroes" by wishing Grace didn't have faith. Maybe the reason some of those not quite as bad people couldn't gain the power of light was because Azel was actively approaching them and telling them it was pointless or doing a similar action that would leave them feeling like that.

Though I played chess back in the day, I'd say my strength is on average 1000-level. As for the game, it's the infamous Fool's Mate. I felt this was the perfect time to include it to best hype up Iori's character. Though she's only rated 400, she might have hidden strength.

While rereading this, I noticed I somehow missed the fact that you commented on this chapter. I have no idea how I skipped over this comment back then, but let me rectify that mistake now by liking and replying back. Since you've already read the whole thing through, I'll confirm that the new canon for this series is that it's all a movie directed by Aoi. That being said, the France within the Jouzu-verse is also home to werewolves that taunt you and perhaps even the real Crawlindreadeye himself.
