I know it might get a bit grading hearing me gripe about how different this is from the first Grace, but this time, things really do feel off to me. Haru having to sneak around like a spy then be greeted with soulless AI copies of Grace just leaves me feeling mixed. It also brings back the issue of this seeking to be a standalone work, as Haru's return to the dream world holds more meaning to those that read Grace 1. Even as someone that read Grace 1, seeing the old characters thrust into battle scenarios has left me feeling a bit mixed. Perhaps if Grace 1 had more action drama it would be different, but going from slice-of-life romcom to battle shounen with yakuza power struggles really is a huge shift.
