That's it? Welp, review time I guess. One thing this reminds me of is RuriDragon, though instead of a dragon girl, we get catgirl and romance. Two very good things. But before we go any further with the positives, we need to address a huge negative I had with this entire story; I hated that it was mostly written in third person present tense. I said it before, but I'm not the biggest fan of present tense. First person present tense I can handle, but third person present tense... Sorry. Too many times I got so disoriented by the third person present tense to the point where it lessened my enjoyment of reading. Though this is more of a personal thing as it appears present tense is more popular with others. Now with that out of the way, back to the positives.
I was able to catch some of your earlier draft chapters, and I'm really glad you revised the hell out of them because things were looking so bad that it coupled with me not enjoying the present tense format likely would have made me drop the series or give it a 1/5 if I stuck with it, especially after the drugging chapter, so pat yourself on the back for revising things so well. As others have said, the dialogue is one of the story's strong suits, but I also enjoyed the first person present tense chapters. To be honest, I feel those chapters were the ones I was most engaged with as I'm really not exaggerating when I say the third person present tense didn't mesh well with me. This is why I must sadly knock a star from the review. While the story at it's core is a solid romance, the third person present tense broke my immersion far too many times to say I truly enjoyed every bit of this and that it's worthy of a 5/5. I realize this probably is more of a personal thing, but I feel for the sake of the review it would be disingenuous to all if I negated talking about an aspect that hindered my enjoyment of the novel.
That all being said, I have no other issues. It's sad I couldn't enjoy this as much as I could have due to the format, but sometimes that's just how things go. At least the others didn't seem to have the same issue I had with the third person present tense. Congratulations on finishing, and good luck with the contest.
