Author's Commentary #262:
Time to talk about Chapter 262: Provoking the French team.
Things are now shifting over to the women's side, where the match will be far more intense than the men's. And to make matters worse, Iori provoked the French team, and now they're pining for a 4-0 sweep of Japan. Speaking of which, let's talk about all the members of the French team.
コレット・ファム・ファタール (Collette Femme-Fatale) is how Collette's name is spelled in katakana.
Her birthday is May 31st. I chose this date at random, so there's no greater significance behind why this day is her birthday.
Her favorite piece is the queen as like her, it slays.
フィフィ・ベアリュー (Fifi Bealieu) is how Fifi's name is spelled in katakana.
Her birthday is February 19th, which is the same day the first chapter of En Passant Grandmaster was released.
Her favorite piece is the pawn, mainly because she thinks they're cute.
Fifi actually made her debut in the story back in Side Story 6, as she was the blue-haired SPCM running the secret puzzle cafe in Paris. To go off on a brief "if this ever gets a video game adaptation, this would be a feature in it" tangent, If this ever did get a video game adaptation, one feature of the game would be to feature weekend tournaments that would allow you to unlock new hotel hubs along with SPCMs and DSPCMs should you find the secret puzzle cafes hidden there. There would be some SPCMs that could only be unlocked through story mode, like Michiko, Rodeo, and Carol, but otherwise, most of the others would be unlockable either through story mode or finding their secret puzzle cafe at these weekend events. Fifi would be the first to be featured for these events. Unlocking her would also unlock a special Side Story focusing on her. This would be true for most of the other SPCMs and DSPCMs. Tangent over, let's get back to the bios.
卯都木 アリス (Utsugi Alice) and 卯都木 ミモザ (Utsugi Mimosa) are how the Utsugi twins' names are written in Japanese. 卯都木 means "rabbit", "city", and "tree".
The Utsugi twins were born to a French mother and Japanese father and grew up in France. The two have a deep incestual love for each other, which frequently puts them at odds with society. They are loosely based off of Nino Nakano and Miku Nakano from the Quintessential Quintuplets, more specifically, the Nino x Miku ship some fans believe in.
Their birthday is June 2nd. I chose this date at random, so there's no greater significance behind why this day is their birthday.

フラワー・モニーク (Fleur Monique) is how Fleur's name is spelled in katakana. 切川 芙歩 (Kirikawa Fufu) is how her original name was spelled in katakna. 芙歩 means "lotus" and "walk".

Unlike with the men's match, this match will be far more intense with a greater focus on all the games. The only exception would be Azenira's game as that one I won't be giving specific positions for, but the others will each get full game logs. I'm very proud of how this match ultimately turned out, so I hope you're looking forward to peak En Passant Grandmaster, because this entire arc, might just be the bast in the series.
