I kinda hate that this isn’t even really sci fi anymore. Here in the US, we literally have several technocrats heavily outright manipulating our government while talking about transhumanism. I’m sure it’s the same in many places. like it’s not even sci fi anymore, we have it starting.

it was a small but important moment. a goodbye of sorts before the destruction begins. two lost souls clinging to one another. Miu getting to be soft for the briefest moment. Yuki’s acknowledgment that he still feels shame towards his body. looooots of intense emotions.

Taki being the emotional anchor of all this is probably my favorite surprise for the entire story. he’s the duality to Miu and Yuki. they all grew up together, but his life went drastically different and he was able to heal. in a tragic way it begs the question of just how happy and healed could Yuki and Miu have been if only things had gone even slightly differently on the night they tried to run away…
