but yes, going back to the isolation practices. very much a real thing. I wasn’t trying to be an outsider telling other people what’s wrong with their culture or anything, so I tried to write this simply imagining the horror and loneliness of those issues. that’s the true horror in this for me- just the way things across so many cultures are tolerated, and how so many people are forgotten or ignored, and we all accept it.
