This is one of the only stories that I have written without going overboard in the world building. I have hinted that the system was made for him. He was the model. In early drafts, he was one of the creators and it originated as a way for him to deal with the grief of losing his wife. Of course, that was changed. Later, my ideas were around the system being created to end war and social violence. Unfortunately the trade off was giving up free will. What would we be willing to give up to not suffer or experience bad things and emotions? As you mentioned. It would not be worth it. Thank you very much for reading.

😭For most of the story, I didn’t like or trust Kay. But this chapter really pulled on my heartstrings. I don’t like what she did, but I understand her more. I almost feel sorry for her. Sometimes, I guess, people feel like they can take the easy way out by leaving. But it feels like running away from the problems. Anyway, another nice chapter. Thanks for letting me see it through her eyes.

Nina is being Nina. She needs someone to wrap their arms around her and tell her that she matters. Unfortunately, it will be awhile, if ever, that Mel will do it. It makes me sad to think about. How many potential wonderful relationships do we miss because of stupid decisions and lack of confidence in ourselves. It brings back a lot of thoughts.
