Well, I know, right? Haha. But the reason is pretty simple to understand: he was scared — scared of what he might discover about what they truly thought of him, and mostly afraid of finding out things he didn’t know how to help them with, their torments included. That’s why, with Saya by his side, he finally had a reason to do it — he wouldn’t have to face it alone, and someone would be there with him to help Celi.

As for your guess about the human essence, you’re right! Otherwise, Celi would have noticed it from the very beginning if it had been different!

Well, you already have an answer to this in Chapter 13, when Saya explains how the king, Rufus, and the army knew they were at Greyford Valley. Here’s the citation: “For finding us, it’s because of Rufus – the one with him the other night. He has a special spell that allows him to locate anyone in the world, for one hour a day. A powerful spell.” That explains how he was able to find them here as well. I hope it'll be helpful !🤗

The emotions that disrupt Firia (once the conditions are met) help transcend the boundaries of its use within a person by subtly modifying their essence. This process enhances the individual's magic to levels previously unimaginable when the right conditions are fulfilled. However, while these emotions can fundamentally alter the outcome of a spell, they do not drain one’s humanity. Although they affect and slightly modify the essence, it remains, at its core, the essence of a human being. I hope that’s clear!

When I say “annihilated,” take it in the literal sense: the continent is now a vast wasteland, littered with ruins, animals wandering, roaming creatures, and scattered groups of people struggling to survive. The destruction came from military conflicts, large-scale spells, and enough force to obliterate an entire continent.
