Yikes, I think I read this chapter too fast, but there was so much happening! First off, Jim! Stop trying to shoot Lev. ESPECIALLY when there is a child nearby! I get that you probably have ptsd, but don’t go waving around your gun😓 Hopefully Lev really ends up being a cool guy, despite Jim and Aiko not trusting him. Also, I’m glad Jim isn’t dead, and Rio and the others have reunited, but these spider guys just keep showing up! Guess I’ll have to keep reading to find out what happens😂 Great job with the story so far!

Ahhh the tension in this chapter had me on edge. I need everyone okay and at home drinking hot cocoa bc this is too stressful. You really nailed it with the imagery, though. The flashing lightning and flooding were great additions, and it really added to the eerie/threatening tone. That cliff hanger though😤 Good thing I can read the next chapter immediately because I’m behind😂

Ahh not spiders! Well, whatever they actually are, I wanna know. Seems like creepy business to me🤨 That was a really tender moment between Jim and Aiko! Just the character development combined with their trust for each other really made this chapter special! I enjoy how your characters are all growing around each other. Plus, it’s interesting to finally hear more about Jim’s past—he’s been through a lot.

I imagined where the fighting ring would logically be in a testing facility, then remembered it's literally in a mountainside😄 I'm glad you liked that imagery! I wanted it to juxtapose with everything Pyro has seen before in these sterile compounds. And yes, she does need to make direct contact with a cyborg's chip in order to access it. It's the largest weakness a purple-type has, which is probably necessary since they'd be so unstoppable without it. Since Pyro is a hybrid now, she doesn't have such a problem with making contact though!😆 And yes, the corporate ladder is dog eat dog, but slightly more straightforward in this case hehe.

VCR😂 Poor Jim. A lot of people today don't even know what that is, unfortunately. People will never know what it was like to watch ten minutes of commercials before the actual movie came on smh. I think it's a lot more realistic that Jim's plan didn't go smoothly. But at least he memorized the coordinates! Also looking forward to learning more about Aiko... it seems like it was an interesting place where she came from, if not dangerous🤔

Great point! Mantras can be helpful for people suffering from anxiety, stress, or panic attacks. Pyro has adopted her own mantra which may or may not be helping her... But I think her main focus right now is to not lose sight of who she truly is. Despite her actions, she's still the same person. Only, she now has to justify her means.
