I really appreciated that this chapter shows how difficult it will be for Damien to get through to his problem students. I'm a bit a surprised this teacher hasn't learned how to develop charisma considering this is not his first year, but you did explain he became a teacher at a very young age compared to his colleagues. Even if Damien doesn't have friends, the fact that he has a couple could actually lend credibility, since Blake doesn't need to have many friends, just 1-2 he can truly rely on.
How will Blake learn the true power of friendship, if he will learn it? Will Elly ever overcome her trauma (going back to a too traumatized character question from one of the early chapters, too traumatized if the trauma prohibits any development as a character, which for Elly, her poor self-esteem and mistrust of helpful intended advice makes it really hard for her to cope)
