I can't deny I've done crazy things myself to fulfill a grumbling stomach. This moment was quite sweet, but I'm not sure if I was that hungry, if I would be able to be so attentive to hear the story of someone in pain, let alone share my own story.

But I'm chalking it up to Mai being a determined young lady since she has laser focus capability.

Wait, so if Alexa recognized Mark, who was the who are you directed to? Or did her memory of Mark come back after Mark started speaking?

Was it Mark dragging Chloe and Mai? I would think given Mark's mental state it would be the other way around (well, not so much dragging as gently pushing him along). I'll just keep reading onwards to make sense of it

their relationship was Rocky at best. Sure Rise was the perfect rock, for Lewis, there will never be another, but Lewis was just using RISE to cope with his problems. I can imagine if you are turning into a monster, you probably have all sorts of crazy thoughts running, and RISE was his coping mechanism to seem sane. When RISE crumbled, he basically said fuck it and went full monster

It's also one of those questions that doesn't have clear black and white answer. Though I will say the weakness of using extreme theatrics is it becomes easy to overlook the much deeper themes of the work. Unless the person is naturally a deep thinker, it would probably never come to mind as they read the story. I didn't really think about myself until after reflecting on the overall story

That's a good theme to use as a backbone for volume 2 (which I am begging you to write one day). It's a nice way to introduce the big picture of the world, though the specific characters and action to portray it is up to you

that depends on what happens to those who are exposed to the realm and die outside the realm (though your story suggests the answer to that question). I presume normal humans (ie: the researchers) who never set foot in the realm die as normal humans.

Assuming Mai Sasaki is Asian, its a cultural thing for girls of asian culture (even the passive ones) to negatively react when a boy they don't know touches them. Granted, she did yelp, but its pretty common to express discomfort to the would be offender in a way that lets them understand.

Mark, you just confess to the love of your life last night and already you are checking out her friend? Is your love for Chloe that shallow (even if you are competing with your brother for her affections)?

I find it surprising Mai chose to go with a boy she just met for the first time over her childhood friend of 11 years in an uncomfortable environment. I'm kinda surprised she didn't slap Mark/tell him off for touching her, even if it was his attempt to comfort her.

How will Alexa regain her memories?
