I have read through the story and I must say I enjoyed how well it played out. I like how Joy was able to psychoanalyze Liam's extremity and came up with a borderline clever but dangerous solution to resolve the issue.
I do have to agree with otkrlj that Liam's backstory isn't enough (IP theft that could sink a business is something that not even a wealthy superlawyer could talk her way out of), but I'll just chalk it up to the law is something similar to Grand Theft Auto where police can be bribed to let a serious criminal go.
Granted though, I feel this story is one older nostalgic fans like me would appreciate over a younger reader. I enjoyed learning about the translation process. I also feel the story might have been rushed for the contest ending (Liam being conveniently lost and never running into Joy and co), but all in all, thank you MarzGurl for bringing this story. I for one really appreciated reading it
If there is a volume 2, some things I would be curious about
1. Joy and co competing against other studios to be the holder of a prominent story license
2. Confronting a video influencer who taints anime fans about bad translation work
3. Liam making steps to actually better himself as he claims he will be and maybe landing an opportunity with a rival company (though hopefully he gets blacklisted)
