I can’t believe I ended up making the same joke for two different entries, but god what an absolute MOOD this is. From the childhood worries, the dreaded feeling of being alone in a void too big for you, even to the initial disinterest of MMOs coming from an (assuming) introverted nature, everything just blends perfectly. Holy hell, this is, by far, *the strongest* opening I’ve read in this contest. Sure, it’s not the isekai part yet, nor is there romance yet, but the vibes, the atmosphere, the grimdark nature of the world you’ve build are all incredible. It might take a while, but once you actually get to the part of the prompts, I’d say we have a contender

Interesting premise; not every day you get to see basically K-On but with a male lead and a focus on romance. The setup is nice indeed, and the initial conflict between the MC and his dad feels quite natural, like it’s actually something I imagine can happen to someone IRL, so that’s a bonus.

A bit of a ramble, but I cannot look at a pigeon imagery without seeing Ego’s bird poop analogy in Blue Lock xD

Interesting opening. From what I’ve read, it definitely seems more on the vibe of a standard fantasy, but considering the Japanese name for the female lead and her entrance in the end I can see how both isekai and romance will veer their heads later on. Interesting point to make the story from the main male’s POV, but not make him the isekai target like the standard way of thinking tho, I’m intrigued to see how it pans out.
