I think you're overthinking bud - The system is as lax as; At the very bottom of your author's note you post the two-three words 'On RoyalRoad' or 'also on royalroad', that won't allienate anyone, people always link their Youtube and Twitter accounts, why is a mention of your royal road so big๐
.
Look not for me to say, I ain't their spokesperson bud - But your idea, if I were in the mods shoes, does kinda sound like your playing.
Again I'm not looking to argue on someone else's behalf๐
- But if I were a mod, I've seen you appear, go premium instantly and then ask for a passcode rather than just using two words like everyone else.
Again I appreciate what your saying about values but try and see it from their view - It sort of looks suspicious, like you've paid money to look authentic and then asked for a different rule to the one everyone else follows - It looks suspicious, like you'll simply pull your money once they agree, allowing the fictional you to post someone else's work.
Now obviously you know and I know that isn't the case - But if you are a mod, cautions of content theft, then ya, I'd be suspicious to be brutal.
Again, I don't wanna be an asshole or nothing - You know I love ya man๐ but as someone with mod experience I would think you were messing - I mean effectively posting two words in your author's note is the exact same as the codes or phrases you suggest - After all if the reader already knows Royal Road, then seeing it mentions means nothing - And if they haven't, they'll go 'Huh, another webnovel site, neat'.
Honestly if you find that problematic I completely respect that but then I'd suggest you would find linking any social media account, including My Anime List as those too get free advertising in every place you link them - That how I see it anyway - and again it's the simplest way to show proof.
I should add they will except other legal proof forms - I put Royal road in my book's titles becuase I want to advertise it but I didn't have to - I gave them the ISBN's of my books and that was perfect for them - But most people don't have ISBNs yet, so simple, clean alternative - One rule for all - I'd respectfully say that is not slezzy, just an easy system, that prevents theft and sure, gets them the tiniest bit of visability.
Really don't think it's worth thinking too hard about - Usual principals of thing, well they tend to lead to sadness more often that not๐ถ
