I think I'm starting to understand a pattern here.
The more effort he places into pleasing Grace in the dream world, the more he gets out of his comfort zone to experience new things in the real world.
The irony is that by trying to invest in the dream world, he begins to live more in the real world.
It's like how by chasing our dreams, we get to enjoy life a little better.
