Pretty solid so far, minor nitpicks:
How do you keep your gaze locked at more than one target at a time? Let alone five?
Also hope no caterpillars were harmed in the production of this chapter. No, seriously, put them down on a leave gently, don't throw them unless that was meant to show that Ash is kinda sus, but then why play with it in the first place. Hope Ash's teleportation ability won't come to bite you when plotting later on.
