Another thing you did really well was the pacing of the last chapter. After the carnage of Chapter 5, the quick, focused fights in Chapter 6 made Kikyo feel competent and empowered, almost mythic herself. And returning her to the museum at the end brought everything full circle, it gave the story a sense of closure while leaving that little spark of wonder intact.
If I were to offer one suggestion, it’d be that some of the action scenes (especially in Chapter 5) could benefit from a few moments of quiet tension between the chaos, just to let the reader breathe and feel the gravity of what’s happening.
