And your review is- mwah- chef's kiss back~! You hit on everything that I wanted to focus on with AYR. The evocative narration is everything to the story and themes I'm trying to tell. The power behind it all are the visuals and the significance behind the monsters beyond how "weird" they look.
On that note, you're VERY MUCH on the right track. Good that you caught the "She's a person" line. There's a lot of layers to that, one of which is important foreshadowing, so keep that in mind ;*
