It's pretty refreshing to see a story set in college for once, and, one at that, that has a sense of humor that seems to match the appropriate age bracket. Glad we get to see Akira talk in detail about privacy in this chapter, as it's a pretty big issue a lot of vtubers face. In fact, knowing this is a rom-com, I hope that once the rom part starts we'll get even more nuanced looks into the vtubing world from Koi/Mayu's perspective, as it can get really tough and scary at times.

On a slightly serious note, my previous comment about the fourth wall breaking still hits home for me. Especially when Akira's narration is pointing out that he took 3 chapters to get Koi's number. For me personally, and maybe I'm an outlier, but these kinds of 4th wall breaks give me the wrong impression, as it feels like the story is trying to be self-aware of insecurities that it shouldn't have if that makes sense? For eg, the pacing of the aforementioned 3 chapters was perfectly fine, but the 4th wall break here has me doubting that very fact all for a one-liner joke, if that makes sense.

The get X girlfriends bet concept is a fun twist on the tradition of the get a girl rom-com, although I do sort of wish we got more of a sense of Aito and Riku's appearance and behavior (eg body language). It's quite tempting to burst out the gate with an argument that instigates the plot, but it'd be cool to see how they fared socially/emotionally for a brief moment/convo before things turned onto the girlfriend bet if that makes sense.

While I really do like the dynamic between Lilja and Iris, I feel that Lilja spends a bit too much time yelling/nagging at the latter when she's the one that told Iris to come along in the first place. To counteract this, it maybe would have been nice for them to have at least a line or two of genuine connection before the tunnel-girl, rich-girl dynamic broke it apart, or smth along those lines. Regardless, I'm interested to see how Lilja will pan out, cuz she just exudes cool.

As I'm sure everyone's mentioned already, the ancestral communion hall is quite the fun idea, and, also, as I'm sure everyone's already mentioned, the narrative description is very beautiful. My strongest desire at this point of the story is for some form of tension, but I suppose we're going to get that soon with mentions of Iris's mounting academic tensions.

Since I don't really have much in the line of critique, as a fun question I'm wondering- was the two guardian lines both being male (two pearls instead of a pearl and a child) intentional?
