I was supposed to mention this chapters ago, but I believe the best yet underrated way to confess to someone is to not confess at all. Just let it flow naturally as you hang out with the person you like, to the point where you wouldn't even have to say it words, but through actions.

I might have underestimated you on this, because I thought you would go for the typical common word confession tactic that most romcoms seem to use.

I honestly didn't think it would end up like my ideal type of confession and I'm glad it did. Clap Clap Clap.

I haven't seen anyone comment about it, but there's definitely more to Mad Dog than it seems. The fact that Lovecleft calls her by her actual name (Maia, I assume) and talks about how people can surprise you if you give them the chance is certainly indicating something.

I don't want to say anymore because I might be foreshadowing too much.

Based on this chapter, Ai has trouble being around people. Introverts tend to have some sort mental stamina bar, so they have to find ways to cope with the social pressure. Ai struggles with this problem, so she avoids school most of the time, I'm assuming.

This explains why Kiro and Ai haven't met despite being in the same school.

Imagine losing something you've worked hard on for so long. All that progress gone in a flash just like that. That feeling of panic and uneasiness was well displayed by Kiro, through his bodily sensations and his chaotic movements. Although it's rather exaggerated, it's quite realistic.

To lose something so precious, it's honestly one of the worst feelings you can ever experience.

Well ok, nice setup by Kiro, finding a way to get to do something with the girl he's interested in. He's not the smoothest guy, but at least he's making progress. It's not like he has to rush things straight to a date, he doesn't know her enough yet. She might not even be "real".

I'd say this is a natural way to get close to someone, he doesn't come across as too strong or too weak to me, despite how dorky he is.

Hmm, great concept. This is like Zootopia, but with school, mythical creatures and an actual human being. Although it's probably more similar to Beastars.

However, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to imagine them as humanoid creatures with animal features or actual animals.

Tomoyuki already mentioned the info dumping, so I can only suggest splitting your paragraphs into smaller parts, it feels way too crampy.

Or spread it out naturally throughout different chapters when the information becomes relevant to the plot to make it seem more like a story rather than a high school science presentation.
