Indeed, it was all a show. Now I can reveal that this was Shiruka sensei's shittiest work that he mentioned at the end of Four very bloody sentences. After being crunched to write a television drama staring a hot actor, Shiruka deliberately went above and beyond to make the show a nightmare for the editor. Upon completion of the series, the editor sought to put all the credit for the show on Shiruka, which led to critics appreciating the work more than they would have, much to Shiruka's calculations and the editor's dismay. Now because the editor decided to crunch Shiruka, Shiruka left the company and now writes in another magazine.

Thank you for reading the entire story. I'll admit, it can be a bit difficult to get some of the references. Some of the games I referenced are more on the obscure side. I did create a master list of references that I'm pretty sure includes everything in a comment on this chapter, so feel free to view it if you want to.
I decided to go with streaming as the central theme because it was something I was somewhat familiar with. It also allowed me to get creative with some of the chapters and events in the story.

As for Astrid, don't worry she's fine. I enjoyed reading your reactions to Astrid's antics.

I'm glad you enjoyed the heart to heart moments. Making the novel wholesome was my primary goal. Their parents do indeed have good relationships with them again and they are a happy Wasabi family.

That was the final loose end I sought to tie up before ending the story. Believe it or not, I actually struggled with how to write Leona's parents into the story. The original plan was for one of them to be a major antagonist, but I felt the arc might shift the tone of the story too much. Therefore, I just went with her father doing something dumb and instantly destroying his political career. He lost reelection, but he did start to improve his attitude more towards Leona as a result of it. Now Crowboy has truly achieved 100% completion.

Yes, the Yowie is into yuri. As for the fake yowie, he's actually a reference to The blue shell incident, a video made by Vargskelethor Joel.
This marks the conclusion of Yowie Hunt's television run, but there is a bit more to the overall story. The true nuances of some of the elements in the show and what Yowie Hunt truly is, will all be revealed in the final chapters. Most notably, why Richelieu said what he said in the last sentence.

It can definitely be considered a risk/reward type of deal if you're doing the challenges simply for fame. Astrid and Leona do the challenges primarily for views, but they also enjoy the thrill of the challenge. It makes things more interesting for both them and the viewers.

Thanks for the feedback on the mother. The goal was definitely not to portray her as wrong. I guess I wasn't able to quite nail the dialogue as much as I thought though.😅 I was trying to portray that she had reached her limit with her son's lack of a stable career.
As for the relationship mending, I think you'll enjoy that element much more. It's more subtle and realistic.

Poor girl wanted to make things interesting. Astrid was also a little upset about losing to Crowboy and wanted to put an insane punishment as a motivator to try and improve her gameplay. Unfortunately for her, it backfired and her hair follicles are pretty much gone. Though the video did end up getting plenty of views. Funnily enough, this is the second most painful dare Astrid's ever done, the first was actually her eating a cactus in one of her earliest videos.
